Docked or hot desking?

Recommended Posts

For those of you that have laptops, do you dock yourself at a workstation when you're using your laptop or do you freely hot desk wherever you want to? I find hot desking can be great when you need to be on the go but I also think it has it's draw backs.

I find that hot desking means you can never properly make use of your space as you're always moving. I think docking yourself somewhere at a dedicated workstation is a great way to have a good setup where you're comfy and more productive. What do you prefer?

I prefer to hot desk as I am not one that likes to stay in one place all the time. I think that the flexibility hot design offers is great and also it increases my productivity being able to move around and get comfy. I do think that docking laptops does help to get a more ergonomic desk set up though.

I have my own desk at work so I don't have to share it with anyone thankfully. I don't think I'd like hot design much as I wouldn't be able to make the space I'm working in mine and would constantly feel as though I have to work around people all the time. I get that it can be good in open plan offices where everything is more fluid, but it just doesn't work for me.
