Maxwell
I have discovered recently that most people who make use of smartphone hardly update their software. It's very common among Android users than iPhone users. Once the software is outdated in iPhone it limits its capabilities which is why they always update their softwares. Heatman
That's one thing that I love so much about Samsung Galaxy S20FE, it gives you new software updates notifications immediately they are due to be updated. I do mine immediately it comes up.

They will always give you update notifications and it's all up to you to decide what you want to do.
Nomad
I update my device whenever it asks for update. Updating software is very necessary to ensure the safety of your device from unwanted bugs, malwares, and virus. However, make sure to update only when your device has more than 80 percent power baackup.

The updates are very necessary for the well being of your smartphone. It's like a medical upgrade of your phone.
Serialised
I am quite bad with proactively updating the software on my phone. I tend to wait until the phone automatically installs the update. I don't like to do the update straight away on its release as I like to get a feel from users on how good the new update is to use before committing to installation. GuiltySpark
I try and keep my phone as up to date as a I can with the latest software but I usually wait about a week or two weeks after an update has gone live to make sure it works well first. I've had a couple of times many years ago when I upgraded my phone's OS and it didn't work very well so I'm more cautious to update it from now on. ByteAndChew
I upgrade my phones operating system as soon as I see the update which is usually a day or two after it comes out. I like to just update it and get it out the way rather than leaving it for ages and ages. I'm one of this people that loves to get the newest toys and gadgets so I like to update and see what's new.
